Spend a day in the Roman countryside visiting Tivoli Gardens or Hadrian Villa and an exclusive artisan Wine Estate.
Lazio Region for its volcanic soil, microclimate and geographical position is the perfect place for olive tree and vines production. In the town of Tivoli we will visit the Tivoli Gardens, masterpiece of the Italian architectural landscape, or the ruins of the Hadrian Villa, later in the day after a drive to the Castelli Romani resort area, (Roman Castles), famous for the Pope’s and Roman nobility summer homes, you will discover a very special wine estate owned by a well known Roman noble family. The property of 90 hectares, of which about 64 to vineyards is where we will start the visit, you will learn about the terroir (soil, vine, climate, human factor) where the typical local vines such as: Sangiovese, Malvasia, Cesanese are cultivated. Right after in the cellar located in an ancient seventeenth building, you will get to know all about the secrets of the wine making process and finally the color, the scent and the flavor!

Orvieto day Tour
The extended hilly territory between the Bolsena lake-Lazio , and Orvieto-Umbria, for its climate characteristics, is specifically suitable for vineyards, and the growth of typical local vines from ancient clones, such as the Grechetto, Verdello, Trebbiano, Malvasia,, this is proved also by the tradition, the wine production from this specific area was always the most appreciated by Popes and Nobility.Orvieto is one of the most picturesque towns of there area, with a beautiful unique position, located on top of a tufa slope, known since the ancient days as “Oinarea” “the city where wine flows”. We will visit the awesome Cathedral and its most impressive Renaissance Chapel of San Brizio, masterpiece by Luca Signorelli, (Orvieto Sistine Chapel) the Medieval district and the surprising Orvieto underground, tunnels dug into the tufa with a perfect temperature to store wine. finally in one of these cellars will be organized the wine and local food tasting. In the afternoon before returning to Rome, you will have time to stroll around the ancient district and see some unique artisan shops.

In the following days we will visit Bolgheri and taste the Super Tuscan and Chianti with its wonderful views and beloved wines. We can say a total immersion of reds!
